These are the operating hours ClickToGuide lists for each park. Hours change by season and around events and public holidays, so check the park's official website a day or two before your visit, especially if you plan to arrive late.

How many days do you need for Yas Island?

ClickToGuide puts a typical visit at 3 to 6 hours per park. Doing two parks in one day is realistic if you pair a park that opens at 10:00 AM with one that stays open into the evening. Doing three or four in a day means rushing and skipping rides.

The multi-park pass gives you up to 6 consecutive days from your first entry, so you do not have to squeeze everything in. These plans work well:

• 2 parks: one full day, or two relaxed half days
• 3 parks: two days, pairing a morning park with a late-closing one
• 4 parks: two long days or, with children, three to four shorter days
• Leave a free day in the 6-day window in case of heat, tiredness or long queues

Visiting two parks in one day: a sample schedule

Start at Yas Waterworld or SeaWorld when they open at 10:00 AM, while queues are shorter and the morning is at its coolest. Leave in the mid-afternoon, before their 6:00 PM closing, and ride the free Yas Express shuttle to Ferrari World, which stays open until 8:00 PM, or to Warner Bros. World, which is open until 9:00 PM from Wednesday to Saturday.

Ferrari World and Warner Bros. World also make a good pair. Do Ferrari World first for Formula Rossa, the world's fastest roller coaster, then spend the evening at Warner Bros. World on a day when it closes late.

Best time of year to visit Yas Island

Experience Abu Dhabi, the emirate's official tourism site, names October to April as the best time to visit, when temperatures suit being outdoors. Summer runs from late May to September, and daytime temperatures of 38 to 42 °C are common from June to September.

The season matters most for Yas Waterworld, which is outdoors, and for walks between car parks, shuttle stops and park gates. Warner Bros. World is a fully indoor, air-conditioned park, which makes it the easiest choice on a hot afternoon. In summer, go to the water park in the morning and spend the afternoon indoors.

Best time of day and least busy times

Arrive at opening time. The first hour is when the popular rides have the shortest queues, and ClickToGuide's own advice for the pass is to arrive early.

Plan your route between parks over several days rather than trying to see everything at once. Big Yas Island events such as the Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix at Yas Marina Circuit bring extra crowds and traffic to the island, so check the event calendar when choosing your dates.
